Cor Vigilans
«Ego dormio, sed cor meum vigilat.»
I sleep, but my heart keeps watch. — Song of Songs 5:2
Cor Vigilans — "the watchful heart." Catholic sacred music that puts serious theology inside songs people will actually play, in English and in Spanish.
Every work exists in both tongues. Two songs, not a song and its translation. The Spanish is not carried over from the English; it is arbitrated as its own poem, in its own idiom, and often in its own genre. Both are originals, and neither is the version of the other.
The songs are built from scripture, and the sources are declared — each song names the passages it draws from and the translation they are read in.

→ The Ember / La Brasa — a marriage told in two tongues: a slowed narrative rap and a romantic reggaetón. One vigil, heard from two rooms.
